It’s tulip season! Millions of tulip bulbs have burst into bud! A dazzling spring flower festival with sparkling splashes of colors here and there you look. Locally grown tulips will be on display all around Istanbul. The parks, gardens, avenues, traffic roundabouts and the central dividers of throughways of Istanbul are a flame of color every April.

In the Tulip Age (18th century), a period called by historians, there were at least 2,000 individually named varieties. Florists would spend an entire year cultivating a single and unique flower, and a single bulb could sell for hundreds of gold pieces.

- First stop is a relic of antiquity which is silhouetted against the skyline. Galata Tower has been one of the oldest and loyal servant of city of Istanbul since 14th century. It was used for the surveillance of the Harbor in the Golden Horn and named “Christea Turris” (Tower of Christ). Today, it is one of the main tourist attractions of the city’s European side.
- It is time for taking one of the world's most renowned cruise. Nothing like taking a Bosphorus cruise between two continents. The Bosphorus Strait is a joint amid Sea of Marmara and Black Sea. On one side is Europe, on the other side is Asia. They are catchy, and historic mansions, palaces and other loads of attractions are worth seeing and immensely satisfying.
- Following the cruise, head to Ortakoy, a neighborhood on the shores of the Bosphorus. It is a place where the white-washed summer residencies of the Ottoman aristocracy and a mosque huddle together between the sea and gently sloping hills.
- The highlight of the day - the Emirgan Park, since 17th century, is a historical park located at the Emirgan neighbourhood and closely associated with the tulip. Since 2005, the annual international tulip festival is organized here every April making the park glamorous and very colorful with these flowers and wooden pavilions.
- And, your day ends in, with hundreds of shops, awe-inspiring Spice Bazaar. Before going back home, make sure you stock up on edible souvenirs, especially Turkish delight (lokum) or some trinkets carrying a wide array of scents from far Far East.
